Misha died on Sunday 9 February 2003. He was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer about four weeks earlier, and, while he didn't appear ever to be in pain, his condition degraded rapidly over those four weeks. By that Sunday he was no longer able to walk around the apartment reliably, and we were forced to take him to VHUP, our veterinary emergency hospital, for euthanasia.
